SIGHTING OF SARAH

SARAH APPEAL

From the Guardian Series, first published Thursday 13th Jul 2000.
POSSIBLE sightings of missing Sussex youngster Sarah Payne have been made in Cheshire.
Police in Sussex are anxious to speak to anyone who was in Knutsford services at around 5am on Sunday July 2.
A woman claims she spoke with a young girl in the toilets of the service station who seemed upset and said that her name was Sarah.
She was accompanied by a man described as around 6 ft tall, large build, with a wide nose and a strong jaw. He had sandy coloured crinkly hair and was clean shaven.
He was wearing a dark grey bomber jacket, plum coloured shirt, washed out jeans and was possibly driving a white van.
This is one of many possible sightings of the eight-year-old, but, in order to assist Sussex police, anyone who thinks they may have seen the girl, the man or the van is asked to contact them.
Alternatively, if you recognise the girl or the man from the description, call the incident room on 0845-6070 999.
